Announcements for the Week of February 5th, 2012

Annual Meeting: Thank you to those who assisted with & attended our 2012 Annual Meeting!  Membership surveys were distributed at the Annual Meeting as well as Sunday services.  If you have not returned your completed survey to the church office, we kindly ask that you do so no later than Monday, February 6th. Copies of the Annual Report are available in the Narthex for those unable to attend.   Pat Jones, Bonnie Smith, and Nancy Williams were elected to serve three year terms on our vestry.  In addition, Father McDonald announced that April Baily will serve as our senior warden in 2012.

Stained Glass Window Restoration: The repairs to our stained glass window are complete!  A water test was conducted and no leaks were found.  Thank you to all for your contributions & support.

Church Keys: As announced last Sunday, the lock on the entrance door on the Keller Hall side of our church building will be replaced during the week of February 12th.  For those who currently have a key to the building and need a new key, please come by the church office during normal business hours (M-F 8:30AM-12:30PM) to turn in your old key, obtain a new key and complete the necessary paperwork.

Men's Group Breakfast: All men of the church & their spouses are invited to attend our Valentine's breakfast on Saturday, February 11th at 8 AM in Keller Hall.  We also invite  the spouses of the deceased members of our congregation.  If you have any questions, please contact Scott Baily (870-421-5426 or sbaily11@suddenlink.net).

Mardi Gras Party: Tickets are now available & are going fast for St. Andrew's 2012 Mardi Gras party on Fat Tuesday, February 21st!  As always, you can expect fabulous food, great music & dancing.  The proceeds from this event will go to support the wonderful ministries of Camp Mitchell, our diocesan camp and retreat center.  Tickets are $15.00 each and are available in the church office during normal office hours only (Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM).

Support St. Andrew's Mission & Outreach: If you are unable to attend our Mardi Gras party, you still have an opportunity to support the ministries of Camp Mitchell.  Scott & April Baily have kindly donated a Branson Getaway - three nights/two days in a lovely one-bedroom villa at The Suites at Fall Creek.  Raffle tickets are $15.00 each and are available in the church office during normal office hours.

February Giving Tree: Our February Giving Tree will focus on the Horse Tails Literacy Project, a project designed to ignite students' interest in reading through giving them free books & an opportunity to interact with horses.  Due to a funding shortfall, Mountain Home first-graders & fourth graders may not get books or visits from horses this year.  Here's how you can help - sponsoring one child costs $10 which is used to purchase books for the children.  If you would like to donate to the Horse Tails Literacy Project, you may drop your contribution off in the church office during normal business hours.  Let's all join together to support this one-of-a-kind program!

Centering Prayer: Centering prayer is being offered each Tuesday (through February 14th) during the season of Epiphany in the church conference room.  Gathering time will be at 4:45 PM, followed by a short instruction on Centering Prayer at 5 PM, followed by silence from 5:10 PM - 5:30 PM and concluding with The Lord's Prayer.

Lenten Adult Forum: Our Lenten Adult Forum series will begin on Sunday, February 26th will use the book, 'Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy', to focus our discussion on forgiveness.  You may order the book online thru Amazon.com.  If you would like the church office to order the book for you, there is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex.  All requests for orders must be received by Sunday, February 12th.

On Beads of Prayer: The Episcopal Church Women of St. Andrew's will be sponsoring an ongoing ministry called "On Beads of Prayer". We will be creating Anglican prayer beads to be distributed to our military members in harm's way, or for personal use.  All members of St. Andrew's are encouraged & invited to participate.  This is not limited to the women of the church of active members of ECW.  Our first workshop will be held Saturday, March 3rd in Keller Hall beginning at 11AM.  A light lunch will be provided and the workshop will conclude by 2PM.  All supplies are provided.  We will request, but not require, a donation to cover ECW's cost of beginning this ministry.  Please contact April Baily with any questions (870-424-3525 or 870-421-5395, or abaily4994@usa.net).

Newsline: A limited number of copies of the February Newsline are available in the Narthex for those who do not receive it via e-mail.  If you are not currently receiving the Newsline and announcements via e-mail and would like to, please contact the church office.
